Complete users guide for the TV Star TS4000 Combo Box

The TS4000 is a PVR Ready Satellite & Digital Terrestrial TV Combo Receiver

This Receiver has 2 feeds from:

• Satellite Dish (for free UK satellite channels)
• UHF Aerial (for Saorview channels)

How to Install a TV Star TS4000 Combo Box

• Unpack the box
• Contents
  • TV Star TS4000 Combo
  • Remote Control, 2x AAA Batteries & User Manual
• Push the lead from the Aerial into the 'Aerial in' connection
• Screw the lead from the satellite dish into the 'LNB in' connection
• Connect the scart lead from TV to 'TV out' connection on box
• Plug in the power lead
• Turn on the power switch on the back on the box
• After 5-6 seconds the box will come on and should automatically switch TV to the correct AV channel if you are connected using a scart cable. If using a HDMI cable, you may need to use the source button on your TV remote to change to the correct AV channel on the TV

How to Tune in Free UK Satellite Channels with Autoscan

• Press the menu button on the remote
• Arrow over to Channel search
• Arrow down to Satellite channels search
• Arrow down to 28.2 Astra 2
• Press blue button to scan
• Select;
  • Blind Scan
  • FTA channels
  • All
  • Press OK to begin scan
• Takes around 10 minutes
• When scan is finished, just exit to save

How to Perform a Manual Terrestrial Scan for Saorview Channels

How to Tune in Terrestrial Saorview Channels with Autoscan

• Press the menu button on the remote
• Arrow over to Channel search
• Arrow down to Terrestrial channels search
• Select Auto Search
• Press OK
• Brings in all the Irish Saorview channels
• May bring in duplicates from other transmitters
• You can simply delete the channels from the tranmitters you don't want

How to Sort & Delete Channels

• Press the menu button on the remote
  Go to program edit and press ok
  Default password is 0000 (4x zeros)

To Delete Channel

• Arrow to specific channel
• Press the blue button on remote
• Press ok button to confirm deletion
• Once you have deleted all you want, press exit to save

To Move Channel

• Arrow to specific channel
• Press the red button on remote
• Arrow to desired location
• Press ok
• Continue this method until you have arranged channels to suit yourself
• Press the exit button on remote to save your changes

How to Program Box with a USB Drive

Here we show how you back up your channel list to a USB drive and also how you can programme your box using a USB drive

Backup Channel List to USB Drive

• With your blank USB memory stick connected to the receiver

• Press the menu button on the remote
• Arrow over to channel search
• Arrow down to DB management
• Select backup to USB and press ok
• Once it reaches 100%, you can just press the exit button a few times to go back to live TV

Load Channel List from USB Drive

• Connect a USB drive with the channel list software on it to the receiver
• Press the menu button on the remote
• Arrow over to channel search
• Arrow down to DB management
• Select Load from USB and press ok
• Select the xxxxxxxx.DBM file and press ok
• Very quick process
• When finished, just press exit a few times to go back to live TV

How to Manually Tune in a Satellite Channel

• Press the menu button on the remote
• Arrow over to channel search
• Arrow down to Satellite channel search
• Arrow down to 28.2E Astra 2
• Press the GOTO on remote to view transponders
• Press the red button on remote to add a transponder
• Example
  • 10964
  • 22000
  • H
• Press the OK button
• TP now added to transponder list
• Highlight the appropriate TP (most likely the one you just added)
• Press the blue button on remote to perform a manual scan on that TP
• Very quick process
• Brings in the channels from that transponder
• These will be added to your channel list
• You can now arrange the new channels as you see fit
  

EPG & Information Button

EPG

• Press the EPG button to bring up the Electronic Programme Guide
• Works well on the Irish Digital channels with a full 7 day guide
• Only gives a now and next channel option on satellite channels

Info Button

• Get information on the current programme
• Press the 'INFO' Button once to get basic channel info
• Press it again to get now/next with extended info for the channel you are on

The Media Player - for TV Recordings, Videos, Music & Photos

• The TV Star TS4000 has a reasonable quality media player along with its PVR playback facilities
• The video above shows how you can play a selection of movies, music or photos
