How to Identify the Correct Satellite
- Purpose
- The purpose of this video is to show how to know if you are on the correct satellite
- When a meter is looking for a satellite, it's actually a transponer it's looking for
- Problem
- Many transponders match on different satellites which will give you a false reading
- ie. 10744 Horizontal 22000 is on both Astra 1 and 2
- Solution: Unique Transponders
- Find a transponder that will be unique to the satellite that you are looking for
- ie. 10714 Horizontal 22000 will only give a reading on Astra 2
- ie. 10847 Vertical 22000 will only give a reading on Astra 1
- Packets
- When you are on the correct satellite, you will get 5 bars on both signal and quality
- When you are not on the correct satellite, you won't get the full 5 bars on both sides
Packet Control
- This feature allows you to look at the Signal Quality and Strength of each individual transponder that is found on a satellite
- Connect a cable terminated with F-connectors from the Satplus meter to a satellite dish
- On the Satplus meter;
- Select the Packet Control option
