How to install a Smart HD satellite Receiver
- Unpack the box
- MX04HDTV Satellite Receiver
- Remote control
- Screw the lead from the satellite dish into the LNB in connection
- Connect
- scart lead from TV to 'TV' out connection on box
- or HDMI lead from the TV to the HDMI slot on satellite box
- Plug in the power lead
- Turn on the power switch on the back on the box
- After 5-6 seconds the box will come on and should automatically switch TV to AV channel
How to Find Satellite Channels with Autoscan
- Press the 'Menu' button
- Scroll down to the 'Installation' Sub-menu
- Press 'OK'
- Enter password '0000'
- Select 'Single Satellite Search' & click 'OK'
- From Satellite menu
- Scroll over to select Satellite 'Astra 2A/2D'
- Search option 'FTA only'
- Scan 'TV&RADIO'
- Scan Mode 'Autoscan'
- Click ok on 'Search'
- See 'Channel Search Complete' after 3-4 minutes
- Autoscan is now complete !
How to sort Channels
- Press the 'Menu' button
- Scroll down to the 'Edit channels' Sub-menu
- Press 'OK'
- Enter password '0000'
- Use options:
- Move
- Delete
- Press Exit
- Press Exit
- Are you sure to save ?
- Select 'Yes'
How to Program Box with USB
- Latest Version of Software (20 July 2010) see the attachments tab on the MX04HD Product
- When to use ? This can be used in cases where something has gone wrong with your box.
- What to do ?
- All that needs to be done is to click the tab and download the
DumpFile.abs file to a Transcend memory stick on your computer. - Making sure that the memory stick is wiped first.
After that, just follow the download channel data from the USB stick guide below.

Upload Channel data on to USB stick.
- Press the Menu Button
- Scroll down and select 'Tools' Sub-meuu
- Enter password '0000'
- Select 'Upgrade by USB'
- Upgrade Mode ''DUMP
- Select 'Start' - takes 10-15 seconds
- Press Exit - the data has been copied to the USB stick

Download Data from USB stick
- Press the Menu Button
- Scroll down and select 'Tools' Sub-meuu
- Enter password '0000'
- Select 'Upgrade by USB'
- XXXXXADD TABLE
Select 'Start' - takes 12-60 seconds depending on option - The box switches itself off (blue screen)
- After 5-6 seconds switches itself back on showing a TV channel
How To Manually Tune in a Satellite Channel
- Press the 'Menu' button
- Scroll down and select 'Installation' Sub-meuu
- Enter password '0000'
- Select 'TP List'
- Scroll through the list of Transponders and select
- FTA only 'Yes'
- Scan Channel 'TV & Radio'
- Click 'OK'

Using an external hard drive on an MX04HD satellite Receiver
- Plug in the hard drive into the usb port on the back of the mx04
- It might say that it can't read ntfs format, if so do the following......
- Menu - button down to bottom icon [rec] - button right and enter the password 0000
- Select storage info
- Press yellow to format the hard drive, select the format [FAT] and press ok.
- It will only take a few moments to format the drive.
- When finished, just press exit until you are back out at the normal channels
To record something you are currently watching
- Press record to record
- Stop to finish recording (asks you if yiou are sure yes/no)
To see what's recorded
- Menu - (password 0000) rec - media player
- Press 0 until record(at the top is highlighted red)
- Then press the down button until the item you want to watch is highlighted and press ok
- To stop playback of the recording, press stop and press exit
- until you are back out at the normal channels
To pause live TV
- Press the pause button - press play to resume
- You can use the fw buttons to go back & forward though the recording
- You can see how far you are behind live TV in the displayed ‘time window'.
- You can fast forward up to real time if you are finished watching what you have recorded
- You can fast forward at multiple speeds
- We have found that 8x or 16x is the fastest that this feature works reliably.
- Once you have reached 0 seconds behind, the pvr stops recording and live TV is resumed.
How to record from the EPG
- Press EPG
- Use the arrow buttons to go to the program that you would like to record.
- Press the green button on the remote for the timer mode.
- You now have several options as to how you would like to record.
- You can say
- once(maybe a once off film you would like to record)
- daily(the news at 6 for example)
- weekly(match of the day perhaps).
- Timer service should be set to record
- You can set the time and duration of the program at the bottom
- By default it sets it as the time/duration of the program you have chosen to record.
- If you needed to amend that then you can here.
- All the other settings should be correct by default.
