My Sky Puck Power Adapter is Too Large to Fit Behind Our Wall Mounted TV
Recently we have been asked a few times about the size of the new Sky Puck power supply and why it is so large.
The power supply that comes with the Sky Puck is a plugtop type power adapter and is pretty bulky, specifically in it's height from the wall, away from the mains socket. The new Sky Puck power adapter is almost 3 times the height of a standard mains plug once plugged in.
This is causing some folks who are using flat mounting, fixed or tilted TV wall mounting brackets a bit of a issue. When the TV owner is trying to achieve a neat finish with everything hidden behind the television, it protrudes more than desired and a flush finish is impossible.
It can also cause an issue with swiveling TV brackets, both single & dual arm varieties, where the owner wishes to 'park' the TV flush to the wall when not in use.
The official Sky Puck power adapter is rated at 5 Volts ~ 1.12 Amps. It has a 3.5mm x 1.35mm DC jack on the output which is centre positive.
