How to Mount a Satellite Dish Bracket
This bracket can be mounted on either a chimney or as in the description below on a gable wall.
Tools Needed
- A ladder
- SDS cordless drill
- Short 8mm, 10mm drill bits
- Ratchet with 10 & 13 mm sockets
- Snips
- Safety equipment (harness, safety mat etc)
Equipment Needed
- Sky style wall bracket and arm
- Coach bolt M8 x 50mm & 10mm plastic plugs (qty: 8)
Location
- On a gable wall of a house to ensure aerial is above roof line of neighbouring buildings if possible so as to have a clear line of sight towards the transmitter tower.
Steps to Install
- Position ladder to left (if right handed) of where the bracket is to be mounted
- Secure the ladders and put on all safety equipment
- Ascend the ladder with the drill, tools, bolts and sky satellite dish bracket
- After selecting desired location, use 8mm bit to drill guide holes
- Now use 10mm bit to drill hole
- Use ratchet and 13mm socket to bolt on bracket to the wall using the plastic plugs and coach bolts (qty:4)
- Use ratchet and 10mm socket to tighten side U-bolts on the bracket so that the arm is square to the wall *caution do no over tighten or threads on bolts will wear.
