Can I add a Free to Air Satellite receiver to my existing Sky TV Setup
Mark asks,
Hi I've recently had sky installed and I want to add FTA to another room. Can I connect to the sky dish (it has two spare connection points on the LNB) with a HD satellite receiver and Satellite installation kit. Would I require anything else?
Our answer;
the answer to this is yes it is very very easy to add on Free to air receiver
Facts to consider
- Both Sky and Free to Air channels come from the same satellite (Astra 2, 28 degrees East)
- the equipment is totally interchangeable in terms of satellite dishes, LNBs
- as you own the satellite dish, receiver & LNB, you can upgrade as you like
- a single SKY+ HD install will have 2 ports of the Quad LNB being free to add extra boxes
What will you need to buy?
- you can simply add a HD Satellite Receiver
- & most of the parts that make up a Satellite Installation Kit
How Do install ?
- Just run a Satellite Cable with an F Connector on either end from the Satellite dish LNB to the the extra box.
Will it interfere or reduce signal quality to my sky+ receiver?
- It should work fine and have no impact
